About Worship

Christ has died! Christ is risen! Christ will come again! To get to know about Episcopalians and how we think, come and worship with us.

"What should I expect during a first visit?"
Typically an usher will greet you at the door and hand you a service bulletin. Sit down in a pew wherever you feel comfortable. Follow the order of service using the bulletin and the Book of Common Prayer (red) and Hymnal (blue) in front of you. You may be offered an opportunity to make a thank-offering as a plate is passed, yet it is not required nor expected of you. Today you are God's guest. If you wish to receive Holy Communion proceed to the altar rail when the usher invites your pew. If you only wish to sit and observe, you are welcome. After the service, introduce yourself to someone and say hello. Following the 10 a.m. service there is a coffee hour fellowship in the parish hall to the back of the building. It is optional but know that you will be welcomed if you chose to attend.

The two chief sacraments of the Episcopal Church are Holy Communion (at each service of worship) and Holy Baptism (on special occasions). Other sacraments are Confirmation, Reconciliation, Unction, Matrimony and Ordination. Each sacrament is a means of grace to help at turning points in your journey through life - birth, growth and order, adolescence, sex and commitment, adulthood, family and celebration, sin and sickness, aging and death. We are here for you throughout your lifetime.

Worship, Reaching Out While Reaching Up

Eucharist Ministry "Compassion for the ill and infirm"
Commissioned lay members visit nursing facilities and parish homes after services on most Sunday as they take the Reserved Communion to shut-ins. The rector in his ministry as priest and pastor welcomes invitations to come and share the grace of our Lord with fellow parishioners at their homes.

Pastoral Care "Hospitality by members"
When a reception is wanted, for a funeral or other occasion, we provide the facilities in our newly renovated parish hall. Our members prepare food and host the congregation after the service, leaving families free to share with loved ones and friends in these special moments.

Devotional Bible Study "Always room for more"
This is core ministry of the parish is open to anyone; focus is on the Bible and entering more deeply into the Word for daily living.

Child-Care for Sunday Worship "Welcome to everyone"
Child-care is provided year round at the 10 a.m. service. During the academic year we select two local college students who in time become part of the parish family, looked up to by their little friends in the nursery.

Solemn Worship Services "Times For All"
Join us for a Holy Week service on Good Friday, each year. For Christmas and Easter holiday services our vocal choirs, bell choirs, and guest ensembles join the congregation in expressing joy in worship. The Christmas Eve Family Service at 4 p.m. has become a favorite in recent years.
